We raise a variety of dairy sheep on Radar Ranch. We have East Friesian, polypay, and some milking Finnsheep. We have a few bloodlines that contain some awassi that originated from Karra's Farms as well.
We occasionally will sell a ewe in milk after weaning. Lambs are typically weaned by 8-12 weeks of age once they are eating well on grain and hay.
Sheep milk is nutritious and can be used in a variety of products such as soap or cheeses. It is naturally homogenized and tastes smooth and slightly sweet. It does not have the "goaty" flavor associated with goat's milk.
